Why does my font size look different in MATLAB 7.0.1 (R14SP1) when the font name and font size are the same as they were in MATLAB 6.5.1 (R13SP1)?

I want the text from MATLAB 7.0.1(R14SP1) to look the same as in MATLAB 6.5.1 (R13SP1). I have selected Lucida Console size 10 in both instances of MATLAB but the text does not look the same in the two versions.

The fonts in MATLAB 7.0.1 (R14SP1) more accurately reflect the font size selected in the Preferences dialog box. In MATLAB 6.5.1 (R13SP1), fonts were actually smaller than the font size that was selected. If you want the same visual size as MATLAB 6.5.1 (R13SP1), select a smaller point font size in MATLAB 7.0.1 (R14SP1).
