Why do I receive the error message “the result set type is not supported” when I attempt to use an IBM UniVerse database with Database Toolbox 3.1 (R14SP3)?

1 view (last 30 days)
I am trying to access an IBM UniVerse Database. I am using Windows XP ODBC Data Source Administrator - IBM UniVerse ODBC Driver 4.00.01.7084 IBM Corporation. I can access the data using this driver, using the ODBC Connection with Microsoft Access. However, when I attempted to access this data using the Database Toolbox as follows:
1. Started the Visual Query Builder
2. Selected one of my data sources. Tables from the data source were displayed.
3. Selected one of the tables.
I received the following error dialog instead of the query builder displaying the fields from the table:
Error: The result set type is not supported. Problem with database connection

This is due to the use of an older driver or a driver version that is not truly ODBC-compliant.
To resolve this issue, contact your database vendor to see if a newer version of the driver is available.
