Why do I receive an error message in a popup window when I launch the Model Browser GUI in Model-Based Calibration Toolbox?

When I try to open the Model Browser GUI using the MBCMODEL function, I receive the following error message in a popup window:

 The toolbox has failed to complete its initialization tasks and will now terminate.

 Error message:

 Failed to initialize preferences

It appears that your Model-Based Calibration preferences are corrupt. To correct this issue, you will need to do the following:

1. Start MATLAB

2. Enter 'mbcdeleteprefs' at the Command Prompt (without quotes)

3. Restart MATLAB

4. Launch the Model Browser GUI by entering 'mbcmodel' at the Command Prompt
