Why does MATLAB 7.0.1 (R14SP1) print with a tiny font on Solaris 9?

Everything I print from the MATLAB Command Window, Editor, and Help Browser prints with an extremely small font size. Each page has the same number of lines per page as if the font were a normal size, resulting in large white space between each line. This problem occurs when I print directly to the printer, and when I print to a postscript file and use the 'lp' command to print the file. Figures print correctly.
This problem did not occur in MATLAB 7.0 (R14), nor does it occur with any other application on my computer.
I am printing using HP4600 and HP8000 series printers.

Some customers have found that changing the "Desktop code font" and "Desktop text font" fonts to "Arial" has partially resolved the problem. Problems with printing from the Help Browser may still persist.
To change these font settings:
1. Open the "Preferences" dialog by selecting the "File->Preferences..." menu.
2. Select the "Fonts" panel from the tree browser on the left.
3. Choose "Arial" from the "Desktop code font" and "Desktop text font" drop-down lists.
4. Click "Apply" and "OK" to exit.
