Is it possible to make Hide in MATLAB 6.5 (R13) on the Mac behave as Hide does in other Mac applications?

When I select Hide MATLAB from the File Menu, MATLAB does not hide as I expect it to, but only brings the XTerminal to the forefront or whatever application was in the foreground before switching to MATLAB.
I would expect all the windows of the application to become invisible and for the application to go to the background in order to make the desktop cleaner. MATLAB is the only application that I use that does behave this way.

This enhancement has been incorporated in Release 14 Service Pack 3 (R14SP3).
