consider using isequalwithequalnans (isequaln) against NaN instead of isequal against 'NaN' in test 7.

I agree. Disallow usage of PI for fairer scoring of your problem. Neat question!

David submitted a Comment to Problem 1050. Basics: 'Find the eigenvalues of given matrix

Good trial, but consider using a less revealing test suite, like:
y_correct = [ -0.372281323269014 ; 5.372281323269014];
Thanks!

Not quite. You will still need to use "isequalwithequalnans" (or "isequaln" in newer versions) instead of "isequal".

Still, the open "if" statement in the test suite will not pass any solutions. Consider making "n" an argument?
