playsnd

This is a sound driver for UNIX systems which have Open Sound System.

Description

This is a sound driver for UNIX systems which have Open Sound System (OSS) installed. Open Sound System is available on many UNIX platforms; check the OSS home page at http://www.opensound.com for currently supported platforms. The driver was specifically tested with MATLAB 5.0/5.1 using Linux, Red Hat distribution 4.1 and 4.2; however, it should compile and run under any Linux kernel 2.x which has OSS installed.

The sound driver supports stereo or mono and any sampling rate and resolution supported by the audio card.

To compile, rename playsnd.oss to playsnd.c and use 'mex -v playsnd.c'. The file is named playsnd.oss to differentiate it from any other playsnd source files intended for other systems.
