soundcap

This function querys a system's audio card capabilities.

Description

This is a function which allows programmatic querying of a system's audio card capabilities. It returns a structure indicating supported stereo modes, sampling rates and resolutions. The structure should be fairly self-explanatory. Like playsnd.oss it requires Open Sound System to be installed on the intended system. The driver was specifically tested with MATLAB 5.0/5.1 using Linux, Red Hat distribution 4.1 and 4.2; however, it should compile and run under any Linux kernel 2.x which has OSS installed.

To compile, rename soundcap.oss to soundcap.c and use 'mex -v playsnd.c'. The file is named soundcap.oss to differentiate it from any other playsnd source files intended for other systems.
