A time frequency analysis programm and a matlab UI

| Watch this File

File Information
Description

An adaptive time frequency analysis toolkit , and its manual in Chinese. The kernel programm is writed in c++, and the GUI is a matlab function. Its time frequency resolution is much higher than short-term Fourier Transform.
Usage : Extract tfagui.m and tfagui.fig into the exist path of matlab, then extract atfr.exe into a system path("C:\winnt" for example). You can launch the toolkit by inputting "tfagui" in the command line of matlab.

Reference:
The kernel algorithm of AOK is from Jones at RICE University:

MATLAB release MATLAB 6.5 (R13)
Other requirements platform : windows NT,2000,xp matlab R13

High resolution

it is very easy to use,but the signal analysis must be based on physics.

very nice, and provides excellent time resolution of frequencies compared to fft.

I'm working in the estimation of the instantaneous frequency. Can you please help me or give me the algorithm or the M-files to generate the estimation of the IF? Like ( Zeros-Crossings,LMS,RLS,WVD Peak, STFT peak,XWVD peak?or others)

Really thanks

For instantaneous frequency, consider looking into the Hilbert Transform.

This is a very nice version of "An Adaptive Optimal-Kernel Time Frequency Representation " Jones and Baraniuk (1995) IEEE transactions on signal processing 43, 2361-2371

It works very well and is very fast. However, with 2GB RAM it is only possible to analyze signals of about 3.5 seconds at a sampling frequency of 4410Hz.

Note that the software is compiled to run on windows machines and requires the Matlab signal processing toolbox.

I'm working in the estimation of the life prediction of the mechanical components (bearings gears ....etc) i have search for an algorithme of the time frequency analysis (svd singular value decomposition ) and the algorithe of the expectation-maximisation ) with matlab .
thank you

thank you for the job you have done. the software do me a great favor. the resoult and the speed are better than what i have used. Again, thanks!

I NEED

18 May 2009 jack loman

how can i use it in details?

I have tried using this application for a time series of 250 secs long (sampled at 100 Hz) but the application crashed Matlab. Is it the limitation of my computer or its the program? I have tried other TFA alorithms buy nothin seems to handle this long data.. it takes forever...any help us appreciated!
