Coin recognition

You can recognize the coins with that code.

Description	This code can use for recognition the coins. It is so simple to use. How it can recognize? -I use size informations of coins for recognition. It is possible to use neural networks for teaching the coins but it will be complicated.

23 Feb 2007	Jos x@y.z	poor programming practice: for instance: "a1=(Label==1); .. a6=(Label==6);", or the whole function merkz.m (take a good look at the help of max!). Moreover, it only works for the test images you provided. If this was intended to be of educational value, the help and comments on the algorithms used should be improved considerably.

14 Nov 2007	Christian Kotz	Have a look at the scientific literature for coin segmentation algorithms. There are different approaches (Hough based, etc.) I can send you some papers as PDFs that I collected along with two different Matlab coin segmentation implementations I wrote if you like.
