There's nothing worse that setting up an hour or two of number-crunching, heading out for a long lunch, and coming back to find that your script crashed a few minutes after you left.
Wouldn't it be great if you could get MATLAB to send a text message to your phone letting you know there was an error?
Put this little program inside a 'catch' clause and it will send you a message with the text of the error.
Can also be used to send any short message from matlab.
I've only tested this on windows with a verizon cell phone but it should work with little or no modification on linux and with other carriers. |
