Hi Steven,
Unfortunatlly I update these files, but didn't check the release version. Could you please help me with the R2007a Version?

The function RandStream in this version does not exist.

Thanks in Advance,

Gabriel

Just downloaded it and compared the files with the ones shipped with 2007b release.
m-file is newer (just axis label changed a little), but dat-file is interesting.
2007b:
$Revision: 1.10.4.11.2.1 $
$Date: 2007/08/08 18:24:46 $
new:
$Revision: 1.10.6.10 $
$Date: 2007/03/20 14:39:21 $
So, the revision is newer, but the date is older. ???

Has anyone tested an AMD FX, and why the differences are not that extraordinary ? Compare this with the P4-2.8GHz below .. He beats me everywhere but on the FFT test

I had forgotten to update the file on the File Exchange; I have done so with the bench file for MATLAB 7.3 (R2006b) and it should be visible in the next few days.

the bench.dat file here is older than the file released with the now out-of-date 2006a

Ran Bench on R14 SP1 running on windoze XP Pro SP2. I have 2 GB of OCZ Platinum 433 MHz RAM (9, 4, 4, CL 3) on a DFI UI II MoBo and an AMD 2600+ XP Mobile (11.5x217) 2.5 GHz.

Average of bench(10) top with 95% CI below.

0.3626 0.3907 0.3000 0.4859 0.4110 0.7486

0.0081 0.0004 0.0055 0.0041 0.0137 0.0142

You can tell that I have a low-end 3D card. I think it cost $20.

Results on a Dell 700m Centrino 1.6 512MB/40GB:
0.6400 0.7210 0.3100 0.6100 0.6310 0.3200. It scores 30-31 on relative test chart.

My results on a Dell Latitude D800 with a Pentium M 1.6 MHz processor and R14:

0.65 0.52 0.28 0.68 0.65 0.74

Switching to the Intel MKL from the default ATLAS seems to make no difference in the benchmark, except that the LU result gets worse: 0.72 compared to 0.65! However, svd() seems to gain 5% in speed, and that is what I use most.

Acer Ferrari 3200 laptop running on AMD64 2800+ low power chip buzzes by AMD Athlon. It scores 30 on the benchmark chart, when the Athlon machine cough up only about 20.

These benchmarks are out-of-date. Please provide more recent ones.

22 Dec 2003 Dana Massie

I would also be very interested in more recent benchmarks. I am curious about the new AMD 64 bit machine - this might benefit Matlab nicely.

12 Sep 2003 Steve Ratts

These scores are getting kind of long in the tooth. Don't you have anything more recent to publish? I'd particularly be interested in MATLAB bench mark scores for a newer Mac G5 and Sun Blade.

Thanks,
Steve
