This function returns the machine name for a PC running windows.

Description

This function returns the machine name for a PC running
Win95/98, NT4.0 or Win 2000. Output is a string of
form '\\mycomputer'. If run on a non-windows platform,
returns an error message.

This has been tested under MATLAB 5.3
MATLAB release MATLAB 5.3 (R11)

If Matlab is launched from a central server, this utility seems to fail identifying the local machine.
