Convert between matlab variables and MatML (XML) files

Description	Convert between matlab variables and MatML (XML) files. Handles all Matlab data types except classes and java objects.
MATLAB release	MATLAB 7.5 (R2007b)
Other requirements	should run on R14 i think.

28 Apr 2008	some bugfixes, and a minor simplification of the format, removing an optimisation too far. also subjected myself to m-lint.
