Tektronix AWG5000 and AWG7000 series instrument driver for MATLAB

| Watch this File

File Information

MATLAB is a software environment and programming language used to control instruments, make measurements, analyze data, and build test systems.

MATLAB supports Tektronix arbitrary waveform generators through the Instrument Control Toolbox. This MATLAB driver was developed by Tektronix and tested on the Tektronix AWG 7101 arbitrary waveform generator. However, this driver should work on all Tektronix AWG5000 and AWG7000 arbitrary waveform generators including the AWG 5002, AWG 5004, AWG 5012, AWG 5014, AWG 7101, AWG 7102, AWG 7051, and AWG 7052.

This driver is a MATLAB IVI instrument driver that first requires that TekVISA 3.3 (or newer) and the Tektronix IVI instrument driver be installed. The IVI driver is included in the zip file. TekVISA is available for download directly from Tektronix at:

The IVI Shared Components must also be installed; these can be downloaded from the IVI foundation website:

Information on using MATLAB and Instrument Control Toolbox for instrument communication is available at:

NOTE: Some browsers may render the driver file rather than saving the file to disk. If this occurs, select "Save As..." from the File menu of your browser to save the driver data to a local file.

I'm having trouble using this driver with a Tektronix AWG7102. When I run the icdevice script - I receive an error that the driver could not be instanstiated. What puzzles me is that the readme file says this driver will not work with MATLAB, yet it is a requirement? Help?
