Description

we argued at work does the human vision suffer from aliasing...
as no conclusion was reached I tried to test it with matlabs help.

This script rotates a bunch of dots on the screen. the frequency of the dots raise every N seconds...

I can't be sure that the aliasing is due to my vision system and not the monitor refresh rate, I'm hooping that drawnow does the work.

I'm starting to see strong aliasing at about 16hz (the monitor is set to 65hz so I guess it's not from the monitor).

Dear Yonathan,

isn't the aliasing you see simply due to the line frequency from room illumination or something like that?

Best regards,
Erik

hi Erik,

I experience the aliasing as a changing frequency (and direction) of the spinning dots...

The room illumination is neon light so I think it flickers at about 100hz, the altered direction appears when the dots spin at about 16hz...
so I don't think this can counter for the affect...
