Structural Vibration Control is a very vast field of research. It aims to develop such comfortable and firm structures that can survive in the condition of severe dynamic loadings such as earthquake, High winds etc Due to numerous advantages of Semi active such as low power consumption and Stability etc, it has been used. MR (Magneto-Rheological) damper has been used as actuators; it is controllable fluid system. A complete Model has been designed, which includes a Single Story building and an MR damper attached to it. The system has been designed in three steps. The mathematical form of the Damper itself is calculated first then the mathematical form for the structure is derived by considering it as a Single degree of freedom model. Finally both are cascaded with the semi active controller in order to get the complete model. Among several methods of Semi-Active control, Only Control methods based on Lypanouv stability theory have been used. Passive Controllers have also been considered for the comparison purpose. El-Centro earthquake signal is used to excite the building.
