Returns the modification date (datenum) of a file

Description

Purpose: Returns the modification date (datenum) of a file
Usage: file_datenum = filedatenum('myfile.dat')

Not elegant but it works ...
Had to check for files in a loop ...
written in haste but really does the trick ...
could not find a similar Matlab function.

to get a more readable date just say ...
datestr(filedatenum('myfile.dat'))
