Range Frames are suggested by Edward Tufte in 'The Visual Display of Quantitative Information'.

This code modifies the axes of a plot to encode up to 5 pieces of information per dimension. As the modifications are made on an axes level, the user is free to include range frames as part of multi-axes figures as desired, and to modify other properties of the axis such as title, labels, and values after the range frame function has been called.

This code is in continuing development and future versions may allow additional data to be included in the frame, aesthetic improvements, and other modifications which are found to be necessary.
