Stellaria Demo

An arcade-style space shooter with high quality graphics.

Stellaria is the first serious attempt to create fast-paced sprite-based arcade games with MATLAB. The inital purpose was to defy the common belief that MATLAB, a scientific computing software, is not fast enough for such a game, and the final outcome is extraordinary.

In this single-stage demo, the players must navigate their planes (WSAD for 1P, arrow keys for 2P) through a bullet hell and defeat enemy spacecrafts with their unlimited firepower (U - 1P bullet, I - 1P bomb; INS - 2P bullet, DEL - 2P bomb), as they would do in any space shooting game. It might be expanded into a full-length game in the near future, if sufficient positive feedback is received.
