| Description |
SimPartCohImg uses 'sum over the source' algorithm to compute the images produced by
partially coherent (i.e., non-fluorescent) imaging systems such as phase microscopes and optical lithography systems. Total image is the sum of the images produced due to individual condenser points.
The image simulation is normalized to allow fair comparison of contrast and brightness when the same specimen is imaged with different imaging configurations OR when different specimens are imaged with the same imaging configuration.
TODO: For the comparison to be valid, simulation has to be performed on the same spatial grid. In future, devise normalization that is not dependent on the simulation grid.
This is perhaps the first freely available code for this purpose. I have placed special emphasis on ensuring accuracy of the computation. The computed images match very well with analytical results (for cases where analyical expressions can be derived). Please refer to two accompanying published test benches : One test bench verifies the accuracy of computation by computing 3D image of a point specimen and the other illustrates the computation of images of a phase-spoke target.

In the first submission, I had missed out a couple of utility functions. They are now included. |
