The six standard trig functions modified to take arguments in degrees.

Description

These are modifyed sine, cosine, tangent, secant, cosecant, and cotangent functions which take their argument in degrees. They automatically do the degree to radian, and return the value is if you passed in the value in radians.

Well, usually this is done by writing something like:
>> r2d=pi/180; y=sin(theta*r2d); << or just >> y=sin(pi/180*theta); <<. Perhaps using these functions might make life easier, who knows... After all, it saves you about 7 worth of characters for each such statement in your program. :-)

Yes it is helpful. But as Duane notes, the sind function in Matlab does the same thing now.
