File Information
Description

TETRA is the digital version of the "Walky Talky" used by departmets like police, fire-fighters or ambulance in some countries.

This simulink model implements parts of the physical layer as described in the specification ETSI EN 300 392-2 V3.4.1. It includes:

- convolutional encoding
- scrambling
- timeslot generation
- modulation / demodulation
- bit error rate comparison

It is not though NOT complete! Be aware of the fact that convolutional encoding is a different one than in the specification and block encoding and interleaving are missing.

This model includes PI/4-DQPSK modulation. The specification also includes other modulation schemes.

one way could be to convert the wave file into a .mat file and use the "from file" block from simulink->sources

do you know how will i be able to convert my wav file so that i can use it as a source to this? as well as to recover the original wav file at the output? thanks a lot in advance.

you can exchange the random generator with any other source you like as long as the data type does not change. maybe some conversion is needed to fullfil that. if you do this keep track of the data rate too.

please be aware that actual voice transmission as defined in the tetra standard works in a much more complicated way as just sending a binary wave file. tetra uses its own audio codec and so on. look at the tetra standard for details. (ETSI EN 300 392-2 V3.4.1)
