Serial terminal to control and debug intruments.
Watch this File
Realterm is a serial/tcpip terminal program which can be controlled from MATLAB to do serial comms, for example to log data from instruments etc. It is excellent for debugging difficult, (eg binary, serial data) with any software.
Compared to the native MATLAB support its advantages are:
-Works w/ 5.3 onward
-fast, good for large data volumes
-runs in own process, totally asynchronous to ML
-you can see what is happening
This file inspired Co2gui Lab Control And Automation and Realterm Communications Suite.
Recent versions install an "examples" directory with better and more recent examples than above.
Fantastic. Very robust, easily handles difficult serial communication streams including virtual com ports and bluetooth connections.
i've tried this on 2 different win98 systems and a win xp. it crashes a lot. on win98 it hangs windows hard nearly every time i try to use it. nice idea but poor implementation.
