A GUI for bacterial identification base on PNN and MDS.

This GUI is for bacterial identifcation developed by MATLAB. The GUI relies on the comparison of some optional biochemical results with probability matrix and can distinguish 270 bacterial Operational Taxonomic Units (OTUs). Probabilistic Neural Network (PNN) structure is used to acquire the most probable result of bacterial identification. And when an appropriate range of distance is chosen, the unkown bacterium and its allied OTUs in biochemical phenotype within the range can be illustrated in three-dimensional space by classical Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) method.
