Field, Characteristic Impedance and Phase velocity of Shielded Micro strip Line.
Using finite-difference code based on Laplace’s equation to find the characteristic impedance and phase velocity on the Shielded Micro-strip transmission line.
Assumption of an initial step size of x = y = 5 mm. Plotting of the potential in the solution domain for the cases where the bottom medium is free space and dielectric, and give numerical values for the characteristic impedance and phase velocity(m/s).
Initial parameters:
The given dimensions are-
h=15,lx=120,ly=60,dx=dy=5 ; everything is in mm
the permittivities are-
E1=E0=8.854e-12,E2= 3.5*E0
Initial step sizes are
dx=dy=5
Ans:
Zo = 54.5593 Ohms
Vp = 2.0293e+008 m/s
