Multi-Scale Edge Detection with Gaussian and Laplacian Pyramids

Matlab based program to generate an 8 level Gaussian pyramid using convolution. Two different approaches are used to generate the pyramids. The program generates each levels of the pyramid by applying a 2x2 box filter to the image in the immediately preceding level. It shows the Gaussian pyramid for two of the images in the gallery and the pyramid in two different formats. In the first format, the size of the images is reduced as you go down the pyramid levels. In the second format, the size of the image is the same across all levels of the pyramid.

Multi-scale edge detection is performed using the pyramids.
