File Information
Description

Implements parameter controlled skeleton -ization of 3d objects.

The core of the 10 lines code implements a simple method based on distance transform (rather than thinning based methods).

The method is sensitive to the value of the user defined Thinness Parameter (TP).

An alternative approach to 3D skeletonization that use the gradient and divergence of the distance transform is also given

Dear Gianni Schena;
Do you have code of skeletonization for 3D bronche data sets-extract the central line- ?

Needs an update/improvement. The comments could be vastly improved. Better, more descriptive variable names should be chosen. The links in the description no longer work.

The code rejects fspecial3 function and I cant proceed from here.

Both reference links are died. How about this program?? :(

Anyone know the idea on how to tune the parameter?

19 Aug 2010 David

the performance highly correlated to the tuning parameters, and also there is no mechanism applied to check the connectivity of the centrelines.
