The final calculation of strength is adapted from "Correlation between 28-Day Strength and Density" by Mattacchione & Mattachione as published in Concrete International Volume 17 Issue 3. Per the authors' recommendation, it should be noted that while a strong correlation was found between density of a concrete mix and the 28-day compressive strength, tested 7-day strength is typically a more accurate indicator. However, this approximation may be of use for very rough early engineering calculations or for design of non-structural components.
