File Information
Description

This is a tiny application built using AutoHotKey script and compiler (http://www.autohotkey.com/).
It monitors Ctrl+Tab hotkey and if MATLAB Editor is active, it resends Ctrl+PageDown instead. No other applications are affected, and still receive Ctrl+Tab as before.

The updated version supports additional hot-keys:
- Ctrl+Tab acts as Ctrl+PageDown (next file)
- Ctrl+Shift+Tab acts as Ctrl+PageUp (previous file)
- Ctrl+F4 acts as Ctrl+W (close file)

Note, tested with Windows XP, only, but it should work with Windows 2000 also.

MATLAB release MATLAB 7.0.4 (R14SP2)
Other requirements Windows 2000/XP

Well, I tried this utility, in Mlb 13 this Ctrl-tab combination worked well. Now I use docked editor in Mlb window and ctrl-tab works only as a switcher among docked windows. The tool has no help available, if run I didn`t notice any difference between normal state and mapped hotkeys. What is the use of it? Does it adress any specific problem I don`t know of? Thank you for explanation, therefore no rating yet.

Does what it says, works like a charm. In R14 the combination ctrl-tab is not implemented but instead uses ctrl-pgup and ctrl-pgdwn. This one overcomes that little issue.

Love it!
Called Mathworks support and learned that the fact that Ctrl-Tab doesn't work any more is "an intended feature change".
Why? Ctrl-Tab is now used to switch between the different components in the Matlab Desktop. (However the Editor is a standalone application which isn't affected by the Desktop. Go figure.)

What a stupid interface change in MATLAB7. Thank you, German, for the very useful utility.

A small remark - the latest versions of the Matlab editor (R2006a and above I think) do support Ctrl+F4 for closing windows, so the application might accidentally have a double Ctrl+F4 sent and cause two files to be closed on one key combination. This is not desirable behavior. So I think either the key combination should be optional, or more exact.

This product works great if I run the executable after starting Matlab every time. Is there a way to make it so that I don't have to do this? That is, is there a way to get Matlab to recognize the Cntl-Tab hot key without manually running the executable when Matlab starts up?
