Read and write the 3D data PLY file format.

File Information
Description	PLY is a file format developed by Stanford University for exchanging data like meshes and 3D scans. This archive contains two MATLAB M-file functions to read and write 3D data PLY files. An HTML article on the PLY format and links to PLY resources is also included.

24 Sep 2006	Mohamed Amine JALLOULI	The provided M files are simple in use. They treat both 'ascii' and 'tri' PLY file. Needed improvments: coloring the PLY file.

16 Dec 2008	Fabian Schneiter	nice work, but the structured data makes the code very slow for large datasets. furthermore I think the datatype of faces indices should not be 'short' but 'int', or some programs like MeshLab won't be able to read it.
