File Information
Description

This packet is a IS-95 baseband simulation for 1 data channel of 9.6 KBps rate. The simulation is written for static channel and AWGN noise.

The packet include:
1) Packet Builder (Viterbi Encoding, Interleaver, PN generation)
2) Modulator (RRC filter)
3) Demodulator (Matched Filter, RAKE receiver)
4) Receiver (HD or SD) (Deinterleaver, Viterbi Decoder).

You should run "Simulation.m" function that include all modules.

I don't know if I run it correctly, but I got no results, no figures as they supposed to have. I run "simulation.m". Please let me know what I missed to run this code. My Matlab version is 6.5, R13. Thanks a lot.

Good Stuff. As usual, matlab is slow when simulating communications systems.

1> This sim does not model IS95 BTS down-link since only 1 mobiles signal is txted.
2> Ideally, it must transmit 64 channels (paging, sync, pilot & users)
3> Further it has some errors from the comm system point-of-view.
4> To author's credit it makes good use of matlab's matrix arithmetic capability

I've analyzed your m file. I's good enough. But, i have 1 quistion (may be because i don't know yet), for data rate 9.6 kbps and frame length 20 ms, we need 192 bit per frame. But, why you use 184 netto bit as data transmit eventhough finally you add 8 zero bit (K-1) to make 184 bit become 192 bit. What's the meaning of 184 netto bit and 8 zero bit addition ??? Why you don't use 192 bit directly ???

One more, continued my opinion before. For IS-95, transmission rate is 1228800 or 1.2288 Mbps. But in your m file, it is 122880. Can you give me more explanation about it?
Thx Mr. Zilberman.

IT IS SO HELPFULL OF YOU TO POST IT HERE.
PLEASE CAN YOU SEND ME A MORE ROBUST CODE SHOWING IS-95 CDMA FORWARD AND REVERSE CHANNEL(INCLUDING CHANNEL MODELLING).
               THANK YOU.

Hi, I want to know something if you can help.
I have spread the bits with walsh code then with PN code and added awgn noise to it. On receiving side when I multiplied this received signal with conjugate of PN code it was removed from bit .Now how can I remove the walsh function to gain actual original bits.

hi, could you please send me m-file simulation for Pilot channel de-spreading in IS-95 cdma for acquisition.

I was browsing through "Simulation.m". I found that on line 84 you generated Tx Data as randn(). Should rand() [uniform random] be a better choice ?
