To use this software, you will need the BLAST standalone executables from NCBI's website.
An active internet connection is required, and the necessary software will be download when you click on "Download BLAST executables".
You are now ready to BLAST!

Step 2 : BLAST two sequences

You can BLAST and two protein or DNA sequences against each other using the smaller boxed panel on the left
Load the first sequence, then the second, and then press the "BLAST them!" button

Step 3 : BLAST a DNA or protein sequence against sequence Database

Use the right-side panels to BLAST a single sequence in FASTA format against a custom database of sequences
Download some sequence databases and format them to make them "BLAST"able!
Click on the "Database" pull-down menu and select the "Create sequence db..." option
Select the sequence file, then specify whether is DNA or protein.
