This function reads in the data from .xif files. It is under development (quite heavily, although this may slow down). The function is released under the GPL (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gpl)

Currently, it has only been tested with HDI 5000 files, but it reads in the spectral velocity information, B-mode images, color box information (under development). It has been tested against HDI-lab outputs, and seems to agree well.
