What exactly is the R coefficient that is displayed in the fit? Is this the same as R^2 from here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coefficient_of_determination

This function is very nice!

I couldn't figure out though how I can fade in a figure. I tried to set the 'visible' property to 'off' first then set alpha to 0, but this doesn't work.

The only option that I found is something like this:

hFig = figure('Visible', 'off');
set(hFig, 'Visible', 'on')
setFigTransparency(hFig, 0);
figure(hFig)
setFigTransparency(hFig, 1, 1);

but it doesn't look nice because the figure pops up before it disappears and fades in again...
Any advise?
