Personal Profile:

I received a Ph.D. in control engineering from Vienna University of Technology in 2001. My research interests are in stability of nonlinear systems, intelligent control and motion control. Recently I am working in neuroimaging.
I also enjoy recreational mathematics ( see my paper on the Angle n-Section problem: http://trisectlimacon.webs.com/; and triangle centers: http://mathnagel.webs.com/ ).

I built a model of a flexing tube actuator using Avni's software and enabled me to generate Node and Element Topology for subsequent Finite Element Analysis to work out flexing tube displacements. I modified the algorithm slightly and easily to give me tube ovality on minor and major axes in the same model.

Ok, I'm sure it's very good, but what does it actually do? I'm afraid I'm not familiar with cylinder2.m, as many people will not be. I'm guessing it draws a cylinder, but who knows?

This code fieldlines3D.m is an alternative for stream3.m in matlab. It will be interesting to compare the performance of the two codes. To use stream3, you type in the command line:

Ln=stream3(X,Y,Z,U,V,W,x0,y0,z0);

You then get the nodes of the fieldline in Ln,
and you plot it with

plot3(Ln(:,1),Ln(:,2),Ln(:,3),'r')
