Steve Miller is responsible for the technical marketing of the physical modeling tools at The MathWorks. Steve joined The MathWorks as an Application Engineer in 2005 and moved to the Design Automation Marketing group at The MathWorks in 2006. Prior to that, Steve worked at Delphi Automotive in Braking Control Systems and at MSC.Software Adams consulting in various capacities at Ford, GM, Hyundai, BMW, and Audi. Steve has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.

@MohammadReza -- concerning the negative power, this model does not have any logic to control when the generator is connected to the grid. As a result, there is a significant transient when we simply close the breaker when the turbine is near the appropriate speed. The unexpected sign is because the generator is actually driven by the grid for a short period of time.

@MohammadReza -- when you first open the model it is configured to run with only the mechanical load from the generator and omits the electrical system. To include the electrical power generation, you need to go into the Nacelle subsystem, right-click on the Generator Block, and select "Block Choice" / "Full". Then you will see output on the Power Scope.

Aditya -- no low pass filter is required, so no I'm not using one. Some form of delay would be required if the formulation I used created an algebraic loop in Simulink, but the way I modeled it no loop is created.

Hello there,
Thank you for your comments.
Since table look-up functions have been introduced in Simscape during the 12a release, this example cannot be run in its current state. The underlying reason is that fluid properties, as defined in the main classes ('TwoportsIncompressible.ssc' and 'TwoportsCompressible.ssc'), are described using table look-up functions.
To work around this, you may consider defining your own analytical description of the properties as functions of pressure and temperature.

Hi there,

I was going over the video and the file. In the video, you have one temp sensor and two mass flow sensors. The file has only the temperature sensor. I am trying to add some temperature sensors and flow sensors using the methods described in the videos but not links do not get connected. I am a newbie in Simscape so probably missing something.

How can I add temperature and flow sensors in the example given? Any help would be highly appreciated.
