Ok, thank you for your help, I can now confirm that this submission works correctly with Visual Studio 2012 and Windows 8 and 8.1.

Yet I have one question regarding my project, is there any way to capture an infrarred signal with the IR emitter turned off? Thank you for your help.

Hello Takanashi,
I have already installed everything mentioned here and I'm using the Kinect SDK v1.8 but no matter what I try, i keep getting this output:
