Personal Profile:

I'm a MATLAB geek and proud of it!

I started using MATLAB when PCs had an 8-bit processor and no hard drive.

In 2001 we moved 1,100 miles so I could join The MathWorks. I spent 4-1/2 years as an Application Engineer meeting customers all over the US plus a few other countries around the globe. Now I'm a Quality Engineer in our Development organization. Basically, I get paid to live, eat and breathe MATLAB all day. (If that sounds good and you want a job, we have openings! :)

I also take turns with Brett and Jiro highlighting favorite submissions on the File Exchange Pick of the Week blog.

When I'm not computing I enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities.

Professional Interests:
data analysis, visualization & algorithm development, signal & image processing, all sorts of scientific/engineering computational problem solving

Luca, see the help for GETFRAME. The optional arguments are what you need. :)

Nathan and others, thanks for all the feedback. Some users have been tripped up by the requirement that the input must be an intensity image. RGB color is not supported. I will update the function to for this at the beginning and stop immediately with a more helpful error message.

Hi Robert, thank you for this program, it is most helpful. I have a slight problem however, when I import a 16 bit dicom file the input image on the left appears with the jet colormap. I changed line 103 to gray but now I just get a black image. Do i need to edit dislayrange somehow?

That's almost what I was looking for..
I just wonder how can I display also xlabel, ylabel
and title, and the values on the axis.
Any Idea???
Thank you very much by the way :)

I'm just beginning to learn image segmentation for a Masters thesis. My thesis is on remote sensing and I was told that thresholding was the way to go on this thesis. Do you have any suggestions that could narrow my research in a more directed path?
