Congratulations on a great job creating this function. This is something I have been searching for. I have been using the fminsearch in the past but it is not a very robust fitting routine because you cannot constrain the fitting parameters so I would not always obtain a good fit.
Now that I am using your fminsearchbnd, every time I run the program on the same file the fitting result is close to the previous fits.
I managed to get it embedded in a GUI but I want to change the size of the waitbar. How do I accomplish that? Is there a specific example? Does the updated text always appear above the waitbar or can it appear inside the waitbar?
Hi Sebastian, you probably have a 64-bit MATLAB installed. The APT application is 32-bit and cannot be loaded into a 64-bit application. See also here: http://www.mathworks.ch/support/solutions/en/data/1-35LZ4G/?solution=1-35LZ4G
I had the same issue, on an 32-bit operating system with a 32-bit MATLAB the ActiveX control worked seamlessly.
I still have problems registering the ActiveXControls to Matlab. I added them to registry as written in the Matlab Docu AND run the CMD as administrator. It shows up in the registry but still not in Matlab when I use the actxcontrolselect.
Is this caused by a version mismatch? I am using Matlab 2012 running on a Windows 7 OS plus the Thorlabs APTUser program.
Could anyone help me out? I was looking for a solution everywhere. Last hope.

To register the ActiveXControls, see The MatlabDoku (Using Com Objects from Matlab -> Registering Controls and Servers). To register the Objects using Win7, you need to run the command prompt as administrator.
I would like to control my ThorLabs stages via Matlab but I do not seem to be able to use your scripts.
Specifically, the APT ActiveX do not seem to be registered or at least I am not able to see them with the Matlab command actxcontrollist.
Could you provide a way of registering APT ActiveX ?
