Thanks for the timely and detailed reply! I had assumed that derivest handles all cases. Now I see jacobianest is a standalone function. Thanks again! And great code!

Thanks so much for making such a useful suite available!

I was experimenting with the code and typed in the following two commands:

>> myfun=inline('[exp(x);exp(2*x)]')
>> [d,err]=derivest(myfun,1,'Vectorized','no')

but got back error messages that read

??? In an assignment A(I) = B, the number of elements in B and
I must be the same.

Error in ==> <a href="error:/a/fmalx1/lcl/fma/res1/mxw/research/min/code/matlab/DERIVESTsuite/derivest.m,362,1">derivest at 362</a>
f_plusdel(j) = fun(x0i+h*delta(j));

I'm posting it here because I thought you might be able to spot the problem much more quickly than I could. Could you let me know?
