This example demonstrates the generation of multi-tone signals created in MATLAB. The example uses MATLAB and the Instrument Control Toolbox as your single software environment to configure, control, and download waveforms to Agilent 33220A function/arbitrary waveform generator.
When testing electronic systems, it is often necessary to generate a wide variety of simple and complex mathematically defined signals with high fidelity. MATLAB and the toolboxes provide a wide range of functions required to synthesize these signals based on mathematical and/or empirical equations.
The second step in testing the physical system involves downloading the synthesized waveforms to signal generation hardware.
The MATLAB script has been tested to work with the Agilent 33220A but should be easily modifiable to work with similar function/arbitrary waveform generators, such as the Agilent 33250A.
