The guiding design goal for this course were that students should emerge from the course able to manipulate data in MATLAB, demonstrating fluency in foundational programming constructs such as conditional statements, for loops, while loops, and, especially particular to MATLAB, and various types of vector and matrix indexing. Although the course is targeted specifically to Cognitive Science majors, the goal was not to introduce them to Cognitive Science-specific content and applications, as these will be covered in a subsequent course, which relies on this one to provide a more generically-applicable background in MATLAB. |
