This course addresses the identification, modelling and control of a real-world system, such as an aerospace one. Specifically, the vehicle chosen is a dirigible, since it can easily fly in a constrained environment such as a classroom.
First, the theory behind aerospace vehicle motion, guidance, navigation and control is explained. Then, by taking advantage of the run-on-target hardware capabilities of Simulink, the controlling algorithms are validated on a real dirigible. The Arduino MEGA 2560 is the chosen hardware platform to implement the algorithms.
