      <title>silly plotting question</title>

      <description>I really should know this...&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
but i have a figure with a 2d plot, then (with hold on) i&lt;br&gt;
issue a command&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
plot (x,y,'o')&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
where (x,y) is out of the current displayed region.  Hence,&lt;br&gt;
nothing is displayed.  How do i say &quot;extend to fit the new&lt;br&gt;
point&quot;?&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
