hi,
can you all help me? i want to measure the diameter of
vessel. i used edge detection to make the vessel looks
like two line but i don't know how to calculate diameter.
wht should i do?

thanks,
Hi,

I'm not sure if I can help, but I have some questions which might help clarify the
problem.

1 - What does your image look like? Is it greyscale or colour, blurry or sharp?
How do you obtain your images?
2 - Does the vessel change direction a lot, or is it straight?
3 - Does the diameter vary, or is it quite constant? Do you need lots of
measurements at different points along the vessel, or just one measurement?

If you search on Google or PubMed there are quite a lot of methods for
measuring blood vessel diameters, but many are rather complex and might be
more than you need. The approach you use will also depend a lot upon exactly
what sort of image you have.

Regards,

in what units u want to measure.....

pixels or any other like cm,mil.......etc..

pixels means u can easily measure it..
by seeing the transitions from 1 to 0 and 0 to 1 and counting the
pixels in between them...........
