kdevelop IDE for MEX files

Just wondering,

Has anyone successfully managed to attach the KDevelop IDE
(one of the most popular open-source ones) with MATLAB for
mex file debugging etc?

I havn't yet got Matlab installed on my openSUSE OS so I
can't test... but need to know whether I can do it or not:
If I can't, then there's no point me buying a linux license
for MATLAB, I'll just stick to Windows/MS Visual Studio.

Speak to The MathWorks to confirm that what you want to do is legal, but
...
There is no longer any platform restriction on MATLAB licenses. Buy a
license, run it where you like.

If you're on openSUSE, you could try Eclipse--also install
C/C++ Development pack and Photran. I've successfully built
mex-files using it (standard make projects).

I think there was a posting on this group recently how to
set up standard make to build mex-files. I haven't tried
debugging mex-files in Eclipse yet, but in case you try
Eclipse, let me know and I'll give it a shot.

Thanks, Joachim; I'll get back to you if I decide to take
that approach. In the meantime, I think I'll give KDevelop a
shot... someone should be the ifrst, I guess!
