Hello,
I'm using the R2007a version and I try to document my work
using the publish feature.
I have several problems , and I don't find any
documentation for them:
1. Can I use inline TeX equations?
2. Can I use full TeX support? Current support is pretty
limited, and doesn't allow even plain TeX commands.
3. Can I use TeX equations combined with bulleted items ?

Thanks,
Hey Chen,

You can use TeX and LaTeX in your publish comments. Check out the
following doc for more info:

http://www.mathworks.com/access/helpdesk/help/techdoc/matlab_env/f6-30186.html

The easiest way to get started using TeX and LaTeX is by selecting:

Cell > Insert Text Markup > TeX Markup
   or
Cell > Insert Text Markup > LaTeX Markup

This will put in sample markup that you can replace.

Thnaks but your answers didn't regard my qeustions exactly.
I specifcally asked regarding several issues :
Inline TeX (meaning combining text and TeX equation in the
same line, and TeX equationas combined with bulleted items.
Also, I'm guessing that this is strictly new 2007b support,
as it doesn't appear in 2007a.
> You can use TeX and LaTeX in your publish comments. Check
out the
> following doc for more info:
>
>
http://www.mathworks.com/access/helpdesk/help/techdoc/matlab
_env/f6-30186.html
>
> The easiest way to get started using TeX and LaTeX is by
selecting:
>
> Cell > Insert Text Markup > TeX Markup
> or
> Cell > Insert Text Markup > LaTeX Markup
>
> This will put in sample markup that you can replace.
> > Hello,
> > I'm using the R2007a version and I try to document my
work
> > using the publish feature.
> > I have several problems , and I don't find any
> > documentation for them:
> > 1. Can I use inline TeX equations?
> > 2. Can I use full TeX support? Current support is
pretty
> > limited, and doesn't allow even plain TeX commands.
> > 3. Can I use TeX equations combined with bulleted
items ?
> >
> > Thanks,
Hi Chen,

Inline LaTeX isn't supported, but is on our wishlist.

The LaTeX that we do support is only "math mode" LaTeX. I
don't know if there's a way to specify bullets in math mode.

Thanks for the feedback,

Actually, it is possible to mix text and math on a line,
although it can be kind of messy.

As long as you begin, and end the cell with $$, then you
can turn off math mode in between:

for example:

%%
% $$ x = 1 $$ for all $$ y < 5 $$

The key is that you must start and end the cell in math
mode. You can insert an empty latex string to accomplish
this -- in other words $${}$$ at the start or end of the
comment as needed:

%%
% $${}$$ Text mode $$math mode$$ back to text $${}$$

I believe there is also a limitation where long latex
strings must go on a single comment line, which is annoying.

Clever hack. This feature certainly wasn't designed to work
this way.
