i'm working on an OCR project .. and was wondering if anyone&lt;br&gt;
knows how to open a pdf file to the GUI.&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
any help would be appreciated.</description>

What do you mean by &quot;open a pdf file&quot; in this context? &lt;br&gt;
Matlab does not have any routines to display PDF files itself.&lt;br&gt;
You could call upon an external application to display the&lt;br&gt;
postscript file, such as by using system().&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
If it was your hope to be able to read and process images that&lt;br&gt;
are stored in PDF files, then Sorry, at least as of 2007a there&lt;br&gt;
are no Matlab facilities to process PDF files as inputs.&lt;br&gt;

i was hoping i could read and process pdf file in matlab yes.&lt;br&gt;

there's a function in the activeX that does it i think ..&lt;br&gt;
but i dunno how to work with activeX :S .. it's too&lt;br&gt;
complicated for me as a begginer&lt;br&gt;
