I'm moving over to Linux from Windows and find some features were automatic in Windows that I would like to set up in Linux.

Specifically, when I right click on a M file, I would like to open it with the Matlab editor and not the default editor (gedit). When I use the default file browser and right click on a file, I can see the option for 'open with other application' which then gives another option of 'use a custom command' but at this point what exactly do I put in for the command. I tried a direct link to the binary executable ( .../bin/matlab) but this didn't work. Can any Linux (Ubuntu) experts provide some advice.

Thanks
